As a Paramedic in EMS Operations, you will provide prehospital emergency care and transportation for injured and/or ill patients to city hospitals. You will ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED plus trade or vocational school in paramedicine
    • One to three years experience in EMS preferred
  • NM Paramedic License required
  • New Mexico driver s license
  • certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • must be 21 years of age or older with a driving record insurable per PHS policy
  • ability to type 20 wpm, basic MS Windows computer skills.
Responsibilities:
Maintain certification and knowledge of:
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • defensive driving techniques
Maintains positive communications and collaboration with Emergency Department physicians and staff regarding the definitive therapy administered to patients being delivered for emergency care at their facility. Documents and maintains an informative and accurate medical record by initiating charges for each patient treated, using ChartWriter 2000.

Assists in cleaning and maintaining emergency supplies and equipment for the department. Assists in providing preventive and/or routine maintenance to emergency vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety.

Assists in the instruction of Emergency Medical Services students to provide for positive work-related experiences; participates in and endorses the established Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) guest relations program.
