We are looking for a Paralegal primarily to support the companys general business needs as well as its intellectual property effort, both as directed by its legal counsel. The Paralegal will have an exceptional sense of organization with the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced working environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing and maintaining corporate and legal documents.
- Assisting counsel in reviewing, editing, proof reading and finalizing purchase orders, non-disclosure agreements, other contracts, financial documents, as well as communications and internal memoranda of a legally-related nature.
- File creation, organization and maintenance through life of a patent application, from filing to patent issuance, including regular status checks in the USPTO private status system.
- Providing administrative support to management and counsel.
- Scheduling legal meetings and keeping track of legal deadlines.
- Carrying out such special projects as management and counsel deem appropriate.
- Strong writing ability and exceptional communication skills, and ability to interact with others.
- Experience with managing a docket and completing forms.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum paralegal certification, with a bachelors degree in a legal or legal-related field a plus; 5+ years patent experience, either at a law firm or corporation.
- Familiarity with commercial docket managing systems (CPi, etc.) a plus.
