Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team and is currently recruiting for a Packer to work from our Golden Flake Snack Foods manufacturing facility located in Birmingham, AL.

This position is responsible to pack product into boxes and bags and to inspect quality of product while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Hours of work may vary based on production needs; however, this position is scheduled to work Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM – 03:30 PM with possibleovertime and weekend work as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Packs product into boxes and places them on a conveyor to the Shipping Dept.
• Assembles cartons, applies stickers and packs cases according to case specifications while verifying the package quality of finished product.
• Labels boxes with correct labels and dates.
• Inspects quality of product and product packages and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor of any problems.
• Checks packages of product for proper weight, code and price.
• Checks packages to ensure that all bags have a good end seal and back seal.
• Opens reject material to be blended and places paper and product in proper container.
• Records accurate count of production on counter.
• Helps keep work area in neat and orderly fashion.
• Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Responsible for quality and food safety task for their position.
