We are looking for an Operations Planner to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Manager, Manufacturing and based in Newark, DE.
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Source and maintain relationships with key vendors required to support BMCD Operations.
  • Track expense expenditures and ensure the payment processes are effective and efficient.
  • Work in collaboration with Engineering Leadership and Operations Management to plan work priorities, obtain necessary permissions, and assess resources needed to complete tasks
  • Work to continuously improve planning and purchasing systems to support business growth
  • Create a paradigm for tracking relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (e.g. cost, vendor delays, process velocity, etc.) and have this information available to key stakeholders (i.e. dashboards).
  • Ensure sourced materials are processed efficiently and purchased within budget
  • Advise key stakeholders on material concerns and / or complicated vendor relationships, associated with production support
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
  • High school or equivalency diploma required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Operations
  • Hands on / Practical knowledge of purchasing and vendor management
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other regulations, specifically those pertaining to work-place safety, occupational hazards, etc.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Ability to learn and use requisite computer software to initiate and track orders and spending
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization and with those outside the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish effective cross-functional working relationships
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated leadership acumen
  • Team player with the ability to make impacts cross-functionally
  • Able to identify and solve complex problems requiring independent judgement and action
Physical Requirements:
  • Flexibility to work on any of the shifts, or in any area of the plant, based on production needs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods on solid surfaces
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment
