This position is contract to hire. Will be temporary employment until contract is over.

Responsible for answering incoming calls, processing various tasks to create new customer relationships such as online applications, and assisting both internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner. This position will comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the USA PATRIOT ACT (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), including reporting suspicious activities to the BSA Department as well as other banking and company regulations and rules.

Responsibilities, Duties & Accountabilities:

The core, critical and essential work duties, functions and responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Answer all incoming calls to the operator extension, directing the caller to the proper department or person, if needed;
  • Assist customers with questions including online banking, mobile banking, debit cards, balance inquiries and general deposit account support;
  • Maintain clear and accurate understanding of bank products and services in order to pro-actively assist customers with their banking questions;
  • Assist branches and other departments within the bank with account research as needed;
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and requests;
  • Print customer notices, assist with deposit account data entry and maintenance and other routine daily and weekly duties;
  • Research returned mail, updating accounts and reaching out to customers for verification;
  • Sort and deliver incoming mail;
  • Verify and file stop payments. Follow up with customers for signatures as well as follow up with other employees;
  • Complete verifications of deposit from third parties;
  • Verify new customer information for various fields including but not limited to driver’s license and employer information;
  • Assist the Deposit Operations department in reviewing possible fraudulent transactions and contacting customers as necessary to confirm these transactions;
  • Verify and complete address changes initiated through the online banking portal
  • Assist with online account opening process, following through with contacting new customers and ensuring all documents are received;
  • Assist the Deposit Operations department with Document Imaging, including scanning and indexing new account documents;
  • Send outgoing Debit Card order on a daily basis;
  • As part of the overall team of bank employees, this position will provide the necessary assistance in other bank activities and support team mates as needed.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of demonstrated experience working in customer service, preferably banking or other area of business accounting or processing
  • Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn: In an ever-changing and evolving world of banking in our community, this position requires an eagerness to adapt to those changes and the initiative to learn outside of daily parameters.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task.
  • Customer Orientation: Must be able to display positive attitudes and behaviors, which demonstrate an awareness and willingness to respond to customers in order to respond to and meet their needs, requirements and expectations.

  • Demonstrated proficient computer skills, preferably working with Microsoft Office products, office systems and programs, and the ability to successfully navigate and maintain current knowledge and skills working with technology
  • Demonstrated above-average verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, with the ability to detect errors and make necessary adjustments accordingly
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in working with private, sensitive and other highly confidential information
  • Demonstrated experience to tactfully and professionally address concerns and complaints
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust quickly to different work situations, while maintaining composure under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team-setting, maintaining professional and effective work relationships with management and team mates
  • Ability to maintain regular and routine attendance and punctuality
