Rich's Ice Cream is looking to hire a 2nd Shift Operations Associate, which allows the employee to learn various parts of our production operation. A Batching Operations Associate may work in the Chocolate Shop making chocolate, the Bake Shop making the Éclair Shells, or they may work in the Mix Room making ice cream, and will be required to sanitize equipment in various areas as assigned. This is a versatile position, requiring flexibility, determination, attention to detail, strong math skills, and logical reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe and efficient batching and processing of mix within the mix department.
• Weigh, measure, and document ingredient usage in the preparation and manufacturing of ice cream and bakery fluid mixed used in the production of ice cream and bakery products as per established mixing standard operating procedures.
• Ensure that all food safety, quality assurance, and GMP policies and procedures are strictly adhered to during the mix batching and pasteurizing process.
• In the event food safety or food quality may be compromised during the mix batching and pasteurizing process, the mix operator is responsible for immediate communication to production/mix department supervisor, food safety manager, or operation manager so immediate action can be taken.
• Responsible for general housekeeping of the mix department area facility.
• Sanitize equipment, work with sanitation team to run CIP.
• Provide backup to other mix operators during peak times, vacations, absences, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or manager.
• Maintain inventories by rotating properly; keeping storage areas neat and clean of any rubbish or foreign objects.
• Follow all safety and food safety rules.
• Assist in the proper storage, maintenance and repair of all mix room equipment.
• Practice Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safe performance of duties assigned.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in the Mix Room.

Qualifications

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Good mathematics ability
• Good communication skills
• Must be physically capable of lifting and manually moving product weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in food manufacturing is a plus
