Online Tutor - 5th Grade Literacy and Reading
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified online tutor to provide targeted support for 5th grade students in literacy and reading. The tutor will work with student remotely to help them develop their reading and comprehension skills, as well as assist with homework assignments, practice tests, and other academic needs on a one-to-one basis.

The tutor will work with student remotely to help them develop their reading and comprehension skills, as well as assist with homework assignments, practice tests, and other academic needs on a one-to-one basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide online one-on-one tutoring services to 5th grade students in literacy and reading.
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on student needs and goals.
- Assess student progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
- Focus on the development of strong reading comprehension skills through the use of various reading strategies and techniques.
- Use instructional technology to enhance learning and engagement (CANVAS)
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians and classroom teachers regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and tutoring sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or relevant experience working in education, preferably with Katy ISD.
- Experience with teaching literacy and reading at the 5th grade level.
- Strong knowledge of reading strategies and techniques for building comprehension and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with online teaching platforms and technology.
