Scrap Metal Services in East Chicago, IN is seeking an exceptionally strong On-Site Shipping Coordinator to join their team for an overnight shift in their Chicago Heights, IL location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Indexing of gondola and dump trailers under a scrap conveyor/chute
• Staging loaded gondola and dump trailers for outside contractor pickup
• Communicating with interplant personnel and contracted freight broker
• Obtaining, creating and tracking of paperwork for all loads
• Inspect tractors/trailers for mechanical items and safety issues
• Properly maintain and grease tractors/trailers

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be fluent/semi-fluent English Speaker
• Must be able to drive a manual transmission truck
• Must be safety focused
• Ability work in a fast-paced, ever-changing working environment
• Ability to work Weekends and Holidays
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Reliability to report to work on time

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED

• Commercial Driving License (CDL)

SAFETY

• Operate equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
• Strictly adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental standards
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocol, including wearing of all PPE
• Adhere to all local, state and federal OSHA and environmental regulations as outlined by the company

PAY: Up to $25.00 per hour with prior experience and overtime opportunities
