CUMULUS MEDIA | Indianapolis is looking for an on-air talent and Music Director or Assistant Program Director to join our incredible team at Indy’s top-rated Classic Hits Station, WJJK-FM. Do you have at least three years of successful Classic Hits/Classic Rock music director or assistant programming experience in a medium/large market? Do you possess the necessary qualities to work alongside the program director to inspire and lead members of your staff? Do you wake up every morning eager to get to the station and start your day? Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside program director to flawlessly execute strategic programming and promotions plan
  • Assist program director with sales team to develop and enhance client relationships and revenue opportunities
  • Work closely with program director to assist promotions/marketing team to develop contests, promotions and big events to raise brand profile
  • Ensure operation of station in accordance with FCC regulations and policies
  • Operate (as needed) control board, remote broadcasting and other related production equipment as well as music scheduling software
  • Produce a compelling daily radio show
  • Great with phones/interacting with callers and hosting live events
  • Connect with listeners via phones, social, video, web and on-site
  • Daily social media engagement; website and digital content generation
  • Participate in station Programming, Promotions, and Sales meetings and events
  • Live broadcasts and station appearances
  • Commercial production, including creating killer endorsement ads – both on-air and online – for mutually agreed upon products
  • Voice other commercials as assigned
  • Handle emergency news/weather in show; on-call for weather disasters/breaking news
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of successful programming and on-air experience, Classic Hits/Classic Rock preferred
  • Savvy computer skills and proficiency with ratings, research and music scheduling programs
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and the discipline to focus on what is the highest and best use of your time
  • Superior organizational skills and relentless attention to details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative thinker and strategic problem solver
  • Can work well with peers in a collaborative team environment
  • Working knowledge of PPM / Nielsen Ratings and ability to interpret various kinds of research
  • Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune daily with the local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions
  • Creative on-air entertainer that sees the radio studio as their stage
  • Strong production skills
  • Well-versed on FCC rules and regulations
