The position provides oversight, leadership, supervision, and direction for Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH), which provides administrative hearing services for the various programs and benefits provided by the Department.
This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy.

What You Can Offer Us
- Thorough knowledge of Montana and Federal law as it relates to the programs implemented by the Department;
- Thorough knowledge of administrative hearing procedures, both state and federal;
- Knowledge of legal research methods and techniques, including use of LEXIS, Westlaw, and the internet;
- Knowledge of legal analysis principles, practices, and theories;
- Meet minimum qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Three years of legal experience.
- Admission to practice law in Montana, or admission within one year from the date of hire.
Preferred:
- One year of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of the legislative process.
- Knowledge of administrative review procedures, all aspects of the Montana Administrative Procedures Act (MAPA), and judicial review procedures.
