What You Will Do as a Nursing Scheduler

As a Nursing Scheduler, you will prepare schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels in the nursing department on a 24-hour basis. Some of your primary responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly scheduled and daily sign-in sheets for nurses and nursing assistants
  • Taking call-ins while on duty and finding replacements for staff call offs
  • Maintaining records of absenteeism and point accumulation
  • Recording all Leaves of Absences, special requests, vacation and holiday requests, and schedule change requests
  • Reviewing the daily punch details, comparing it to the master schedule, making any necessary changes, reviewing the float report, and submitted the completed detail to the ADNS for payroll
  • Working with the Payroll Clerk in recording missed time punches
  • Revising staffing/scheduling forms as needed
  • Preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly staffing summary reports
  • Maintaining a list of employee contact information

  • High School Diplona or equivalent
  • Excellent organization, computer, and clerical skills
