The purpose of the Restorative Nursing Assistant, or Restorative Aide, is to provide residents with routine daily Restorative Nursing tasks as directed by a supervisor.
Essential Duties
- Work closely with therapy departments for appropriate training on new functional maintenance programs and changes in restorative nursing program.
Assist the resident with the restorative nursing program including but not limited to, passive and active range of motion, ambulation with appropriate assistive devices and use of transfer belt.
Assist the residents in transferring using a transfer belt, device, or appropriate lift maintaining resident safety at all times.
Assist residents with personal cares including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Reassure resident before/during restorative intervention.
Report all changes (improvement/decline/pain issues) in the resident’s condition to your supervisor.
Participate and receive the report as instructed in your department.
Create new and innovative ways to engage residents and make them more involved in Restorative activities.
Documentation of restorative nursing procedures per facility policy.
Additional Tasks
- Immediately reports any suspected abuse or neglect per facility policy.
And other duties as assigned.
Minimum Training and Education
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Licenses/Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Preferred: Prior CNA experience with the geriatric population
Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
