Nursing Supervisor for Weekends 6AM-6PM Saturdays and Sundays and one day during the week 6AM-6PM.

Prestonwood Rehabilitation & Nursing Center: An award winning nursing and rehabilitation center featured in U.S. News, is looking for a Nursing Supervisor to work Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Must be reliable, know how to multi task, and can teach others the meaning of service through their work.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Serves as designated nurse in charge of the facility in the absence of the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing.

Serves as resource person for other departments within the established guidelines of the facility in the absence of other administrative personnel.

Serves as consultant to other nursing personnel in making clinical and administrative decisions.

Monitors the quality on nursing care to all residents by working through with the unit Charge Nurse.

Adequately staffs the nursing units.

Performs other functions as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Facility Administrator.

Is responsible for participation in the training program on the facility immunization program and in the annual vaccination campaign.

Is responsible for the facility infection control program.

Responds to public inquiries following facility guidelines.

Obtains emergency drugs or other supplies as needed.

Directs emergency responses to power failure, fires, natural disasters and criminal activity.

Investigates and manages visitor emergencies such as accidents and injuries.

Provides security to resident's personal valuables deposited with the facility after normal office hours and ensures valuables are taken to the administrative office on the next normal business day.

Establishes, implements and maintains communication between shifts and units to facilitate positive working relationships.

Serves as resource person for other departments within the established guidelines of each facility in the absence of other administrative personnel.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LVN or RN in the state of Texas.

Must be able to read, write and understand the English language at an 8th grade level.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when necessary.

Must be able to relate information concerning a resident condition.
