Cancer Treatment Centers of America ® (CTCA) , part of City of Hope , in?suburban Atlanta (Newnan, GA) is currently seeking an outstanding Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Surgical) to join our Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Team . POSITION SUMMARY

Essential functions of this role include first assist in OR, inpatient and outpatient follow-ups on a five-day, eight-hour schedule, and shared on-call coverage with plastic surgical team. This role must be able to handle working in a fast-paced, complex working environment and must maintain strong communication. Surgical experience is highly desired, but willing to train the right candidate if required.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Provides appropriate patient care for pre surgical, surgical, and post-surgical patients with hematologic and oncologic malignancies in the inpatient and outpatient setting . This care includes recording patient medical history and physical assessment, developing therapeutic care plan, ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting test results, discharge planning , assisting with wide range surgical procedures, in clinic wound care, answering patients' question calls, assisting with organizing patient care, and providing accurate medical record documentation.
Educates patients in areas of procedures, pharmacology, self-management of side effects and available community resources.
Facilitates communication regarding goals of care.
Communicates with attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the practitioner's knowledge base or scope of practice.
Collaborates and effectively communicates with referring physicians/clinicians and stakeholders.
Demonstrates professional commitment through mandatory attendance at continuing education programs, independent reading, and other professional activities.
Assists in development and participating in departmental and interdisciplinary quality. improvement programs.
Conducts daily inpatient rounds
Participate in on call patient care with surgeon-as divided between Plastic APP's
Assist with training and orienting staff as needed
Provide cross coverage as requested by supervising physician.
Follows HIPAA guidelines for the management of patient privacy and confidentiality
Attends team meetings, staff meetings, team huddles, and other meetings as requested; participate s in meeting and team roles as requested
Assists with special projects as directed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Nurse Practitioner

Successful completion of a master's, post- master's or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN - formerly NLNAC)
Current certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Board (AANPCB), American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) or American Nurses Credentialing Center Certification Program (ANCC)
Active Georgia State Nursing License
Current ACLS

Physician Assistant

Successful completion of an ARC-PA (Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant) approved program ?
Current certification by the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Active Georgia Physician Assistant License
Current ACLS

Pay Range
$98,166.43 - $161,616.00

Placement within the identified pay range is based on individual and market factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, credentials (including licenses and certifications), geographic location, market competition, skill set (including market availability of required skills), assigned/anticipated job tasks, and level of responsibility. These factors are considered without regard to an individual's status as a member of any protect group pursuant to federal, state, and/or local law.
