Essential Job Functions

  • Manages operations of network engineering centers to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of systems. Provides diagnostics to maintain equipment and troubleshoots and resolves matters of significance.
  • Assigns and oversees the work of network engineering personnel to ensure timely and accurate service and technical support to customers. Ensures timely response to customer emergencies and outages during working hours and on an on-call basis to provide optimal service levels.
  • Assists client in developing network plans and in designing and implementing new or modified LAN/WAN to ensure effective business solutions.
  • Conducts network systems analysie according to the standards and methodology consistent with technical requirements and to ensure proper analysis and documentation of network capabilities.
  • Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.
  • Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval. Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems or related field preferred
  • Nine or more years of network engineering experience
  • Five or more years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience working with TCP/IP and other transport protocols within LAN/WAN environments
  • Experience working with technologies related to routers, hubs, bridges, and switches

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $113,600 - $170,400.
