Scope of Work: The Navigation Manager coordinates the PrEP/PEP and the Prevention Navigation programs. The two programs address HIV prevention, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis navigation, Hep C treatment navigation, and substance use treatment navigation. The Manager supervises the staff that assist individuals who have recently begun taking PrEP in their efforts to overcome systemic and individual barriers to daily

PrEP adherence. The Manager will also support their staff to refer individuals who have had a recent exposure to HIV for PEP care. They will also supervise the Prevention Coordinator with the navigation of people who are wanting to get into Hepatitis C or substance use treatment. Project activities include but are not limited to outreach, education, and HIV, Hep C testing and running other labs that are needed for but not limited to

PrEP, PEP, and Hep C treatment. They will also be working closely with SAAF Health’s clinical team around things like PrEP, PEP, and Hepatitis C treatment services. The Program Manager works with the

Associate Director to design, implement, and evaluate these prevention programs. The Navigation Manager is a full-time (40 hours/week) exempt position, and requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Develops, coordinates, and manages collaborative, comprehensive, and culturally competent prevention programs for anyone who is at risk for HIV, Hep C and substance use disorders.
  • Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates program 3 staff.
  • Coordinates all Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, Post Exposure Prophylaxis, Hepatitis C and Substance Use treatment activities including client education, readiness, benefits coordination, referrals, and follow-up activities.
  • Coordinates program recruitment and dissemination of HIV/AIDS prevention Hep C prevention/treatment and health information through distribution of literature, safer sex kits and program brochures during community outreach events, including bar outreach.
  • Oversees development and implementation of program activities.
  • Oversees development of targeted risk reduction messages and behavior change interventions for target populations.
  • Coordinate and conduct outreach activities to target populations including community HIV testing in coordination with the Pima County Health Department.
  • Develops and maintains collaborations with program partners and other community-based organizations.

Provides training with ADHS staff with on-boarding of agencies for PrEP lab support in Maricopa

County.

  • Provides oversite of the lab support program around the collaborations and quality assurance around the enrollments and billing for lab claims of clients enrolled in PrEP services in Maricopa County.
  • Takes lead and/or support the Pima County PrEP Collaborators quarterly meetings.
  • Attend the Arizona SWAG meetings as a SAAF Representative.
  • Provides HIV rapid testing (finger-stick) and referral services.
  • Provides HIV confirmatory testing (venipuncture), referral services, and linkage to care. (SAAF will provide Phlebotomy training if needed).
  • Responsible for collecting program data and composing regular reports for funding sources, partners, and

SAAF.

  • Develop and monitor program budgets in collaboration with the Associate Director.
  • Oversees timely completion of program goals & objectives and other program deliverables.
  • Assists with grant writing activities for ongoing and additional funding opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively within the Clinical/Prevention, Development, HIV Care Services, and LGBTQ+

Departments, including but not limited to covering shifts for HIV/HCV testing, Syringe Access and/or assisting with unloading food pantry items, programmatic support, etc.

  • Participate in agency events and attend program and agency meetings, and training as deemed appropriate/necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Reports to the Associate Director of Testing & Prevention Services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services or health-related field or four (4) years of work experience in sexual health, HIV/AIDS prevention, substance abuse prevention, risk reduction/harm reduction techniques and/or other health-related issues.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Management experience, managing a team of three (3) or more.
  • Demonstrate a comprehension and appreciation of diverse and complex cultures.
  • Ability to exercise and demonstrate compassion and non-judgment when working with program participants.
  • Readiness to be trained (if needed) and to then perform required phlebotomy-related venipunctures for confirmatory testing.
  • Responsible, dependable, energetic self-starter who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be comfortable in a variety of community settings (including gay bars & rural communities).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Have a reliable vehicle, a valid AZ Driver’s License and a driving record that will be supported by our liability insurance provider.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Ability to create reports from database systems.
  • Two years’ experience in prevention programming.
  • Knowledge and experience in development and implementation of collaborative community prevention projects.
  • Experience in writing curricula and designing and conducting educational presentations and workshops.
  • Experience in development and implementation of targeted educational campaigns.

Compensation:

Rate of Pay: Salary ranges from $43,114.00 - $52,815.00, DOE.
