POSITION PURPOSE:

The Mooring Field Supervisor is responsible for assisting management with marina operations, with a specialized emphasis on Mooring Field operations. The Mooring Field Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, maintenance, customer service, and general undertaking of the Mooring Field, as well as the Marina. They assist with all accounting, administrative, customer service, fueling and office functions that support daily activities at the marina and the mooring field. As a representative of both the Marina and the City of Sarasota, the Mooring Field Supervisor projects a professional image through all types of interaction. As this is a fast-paced environment, they must be able to work under pressure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for understanding the rules and policies laid out by the City of Sarasota’s Operating Agreement and enforcing compliance with all terms and conditions;
• Routinely inspect all areas of the mooring field;
• Maintains accurate records on occupancy, arriving and departing customers, mooring field repairs, decommissioned moorings, completed pump-outs, reported customer discrepancies, customer billing;
• Coordinates with outside vendors to ensure monthly inspections, cleanings, and repairs are completed when needed;
• Supervises mooring field pump-out and shuttle activities to ensure the safety of employees and customers;
• Ensure proper controls to safeguard assets including but not limited to mooring field equipment and inventory;
• Ensure and take appropriate action for the proper maintenance of all capital assets paid for, in full or in part, with City funds;
• Ensure all mooring field amenities are in good working order and available for tenants’ use, coordinate and supervise necessary repairs when needed;
• Maintain a professional relationship with all agencies, contractors, vendors, and customers;
• Responsible for promoting the facility and maintaining high standards of professional service and work towards establishing the Marina’s reputation for services and customer relations as exemplary;
• Respond to and resolve customer disputes consistent with Suntex Core Values and refer to Marina Management for disputes that require assistance;
• Contribute towards a healthy, safe, clean, and fun work environment;
• Respond to wind storm or other emergency events that could damage mooring field assets or guest property;
• Ensures adherence to all Suntex policies, procedures, and practices;
• Assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by Management.

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for use of judgment; and compliance with policies and procedures. Must be both a team player and self-starter.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must have some experience in an office environment
• Must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
• Ability to prioritize daily work
• Must communicate professionally and provide exceptional customer service
• Must have excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season;

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift, carry, push & pull up to 30 lbs. with assistance
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
• Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
• Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
• Must be able to climb stairs, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
• Position is located at a marina; employee must be able to swim or wear a personal flotation device when on the docks
