Position Summary

Sanitas is seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team and drive the growth of our Medicare business. The Business Development Manager, Medicare will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing and implementing sales strategies, and building relationships with key stakeholders in the Medicare industry. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and a deep understanding of the Medicare market.

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve Medicare revenue and growth targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including health plans, healthcare providers, insurance brokers and community partners.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscape to inform sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to prospects and clients.
  • Track and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Participate in target customer events, entertainment activities, sales meetings, training programs, and conferences, professionally representing the Sanitas value proposition, model and brand.
  • Collaborate with partner resources to co-develop and execute business development business plans, KPIs and strategy across Medicare member growth and initiatives in the region.
  • Oversee Annual Enrollment Period strategy to include participating in payer Medicare strategy planning and education, and coordinating event strategy with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate follow-up after receiving leads with a complete profile of client information, including calls-to-action, sources, and inputting all data and activity in CRM.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of full scope of Sanitas operations and services.
  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Medicare market.
  • Travel (50%) within the region (Florida) to attend meetings and events as well as to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibility, in conjunction with the Medicare Membership Specialist Supervisor, over the Medicare Membership Specialists in the region.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment, and must be able to exert periodically up to 10 pounds of force, frequently exerting 30 pounds of force, and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force to perform the essential job functions constantly. The employee will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is subject to environmental conditions; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise; there may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.

Employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking order.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years Medicare B2B business development or sales experience preferred, with a proven track record of achieving or exceeding targets.
  • Previous experience with (or selling into) healthcare payers and brokerage firms preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of the Medicare market, including trends, regulations, and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build multi-level relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Highly professional and persuasive presentation skills with excellent oral and written communication ability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Must demonstrate integrity, persistence, and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Excellent time and resource management skills.
  • Must be independent, goal oriented, people oriented, have a high energy level and sense of urgency, and motivated by sales success.
  • Experience with CRM systems (i.e., Salesforce.com).
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Professional.
