JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates all patient and insurance billings to maximize accounts receivable collection for the medical facility by performing the following duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Post payments to patient accounts with 100% accuracy.
• Processes insurance and patient payments to patient accounts in computerized system.
• Creates and mails insurance claims and patient statements.
• Rebills insurance companies or other third parties to secure payment for patients.
• Trains appropriate personnel on computerized billing system as directed by supervisor.
• Responds to patient billing and statement inquiries efficiently and professionally.
• Stays current on sliding fee and other standard write-offs.
• Edits all in-clinic charges daily.
• Determines adjustments to be made to accounts and posts those at the time of payment.
• Verifies accuracy of daily deposits from satellite clinics.
• Verifies accuracy and prepares daily deposit for the Tishomingo clinic.
• Participates in designated activities and projects for PCMH as assigned by the Medical Director.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Support the mission/vision of FHCSO.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); related experience and/or training in data entry, insurance processing including Medicare and Medicaid, and collections preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as insurance explanations and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Knowledge of EHS University Development software; Electronic Healthcare Systems Project Management software and Microsoft Word Processing software.
