Position Summary

The Insurance AR Supervisor will manage a team of individuals that will accurately review and correct all insurance denials received. Review and follow up on all insurance accounts receivables in a timely manner. Identify payer trends and issues and work closely with the contracting team and payer reps to resolve them.

· Review all edits, rejections, and denials to identify errors, correct and submit corrected claims and or appeal as necessary

· Review and resolve denials to identify trends and advise leadership on appropriate remedial methods

· Provides regular insurance follow-up on outstanding accounts receivable claims to maximize collections and maintain accurate patient account information.

· Researches medical records and financial records to determine the current status of demographic information, obtains information from insured or designated persons as needed for the purpose of sending clean claims to patients and third-party payers

Essential Job Functions

· Documenting clean and concise notes on all accounts reviewed/touched

· Assist in overall departmental projects and performs related duties as assigned

· Assists in training and development of new staff to the practice management system and departmental policies and procedures as requested by management.

· Responsible for general revenue cycle functions, to ensure efficient use of resources and time

· Assist to maintain accurate and organized files on billing guidelines for major payers, including employers for applicable services rendered

· Make suggestions for process and policy improvements to leadership, reporting any problem or issue immediately.

· Follows established policies and procedures and follows through with additional or updates policy and procedure development.

· Promotes teamwork by keeping others informed, participating effectively in group decision making, working to accomplish team objectives and projects and soliciting feedback about one’s effectiveness as a team member.

· Assists in overall departmental duties and projects and performs other duties as assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

· Identifies trends and issues and advises leadership when trends increase and are impacting claims & cash collections., provides backup examples with clear explanations

· Completes work logs and directs the daily workload in assigned areas amongst team members

· Participates actively towards achieving group goals

· Adheres to any policies of the department and follows direction from Director, and other leadership

· Assists in developing performance benchmarks for team members

· Monitors productivity and quality results against benchmark data

· Assists team members with problem research and resolution

· Collaborates with other Supervisors/Managers

Minimum Job Qualifications

· 2+ years of experience required with a medical revenue cycle management team

· Demonstrable use of MS Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.

· Familiarity with Experity and/or Epic preferred

· Analytical skills that allow for the development of workflow processes driven by data

· Must be detail-oriented and well-organized.

· Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Education

· High School Diploma or equivalent required

Mental and Visual Requirements

· Works in clean, smoke-free, and well-lighted spaces.

· Exposure to frequent deadlines/ must have the ability to handle stress effectively, subject to frequent interruptions

· Must have good visual and hearing acuity.

· Must be able to utilize a keyboard and view computer screens up to 90% of shift.

· Must be able to follow directions and plan fairly complex processes & workflow

Physical Activities and Requirements

· Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend, climb, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions of hands and/or wrists.

· Requires some physical work; lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 10 pounds.
