Certified Medical Assistant/Practice Coordinator
Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant/Practice Coordinator
Department: Clinical Services
Job Summary: Provide urgent clinical and administrative support to PINE physicians and patients in a fast-paced environment while handling clinical and administrative tasks including rooming patients and completing physician orders for the Washington office.
Job Responsibilities:
Front Office
- Schedule patients and make follow-up reminder calls within established guidelines
- Answer phones knowledgeably in timely manner with professional courtesy
- Verify insurance eligibility, charge entry, rebilling, and collections
- Identify insurance companies to contract with and assist with physician and other provider credentialing with companies
- Help establish, promote, and maintain DaVita values with office teammates, vendors, physicians
- Know and understand all emergency procedures for clinic (including but not limited to evacuation, fire, natural disasters); be prepared to respond calmly and efficiently with patient safety as priority
- Obtain referrals and authorizations as needed from 3rd parties and providers
- Schedule diagnostic visits in timely manner
Clinical
- Assists Providers in exam rooms
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patent's electronic medical record
- Provide instructions to patients as instructed by Provider
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments
- Maintain all logs and required checks
- Display ability to work in a team environment
- All other duties as assigned by the Practice Administrator
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma; some college preferred
Medical Assistant course completion
Medical assistant certification (preferred, ability to obtain upon hire)
2+ years of clinical experience
Knowledge of Electronic Health Records
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively
Patient focused and adaptability to different personality types

Experience:
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
