Material Handler and Welders -1st and 2nd Shift

Labor Connections, LLC is seeking several Material Handlers/ General Laborers for a company in Denver, NC. We have both 1st and 2nd shift positions and hours will be Monday through Thursday -Friday and Saturday overtime may be required.

-Pay is 15.00 - 21.54 for forklift operators depending on shift.

  • Pay starts at 18.00 hourly for welders.
  • Weekly pay, and benefits available.


Material Handler Job Functions:

  • Get prescribed packs/hooks from rack storage area and hang on paint chain hooks according to spacing prescribed for specific parts.
  • Hang parts to be painted in pre-established multiples
  • Removed painted parts from chain at unload station and stack or stand on racks in position and multiples for banding for storage and shipment.
  • Work in teams of 2, with each racker handling on end of beams, uprights or others pats to be painted or unloaded.
  • Operate steel banding equipment to band painted parts into bundles. Apply supplied warning labels
  • Assist in cleaning paint booths, wash tank, cleaning and repairing paint chain and burning paint from racks and hooks.
  • Detect and report equipment malfunctions, unusual situations, other problems to the team leader. -Follow all safety rules, regulations and practices.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned by the team leader or supervisor.

Welder JobResponsibilities:

  • Adjust locating rails and stops for length, the width of assembly, and position of components to be welded. Use assembly components as setting gauges and use tape to measure within 1/16 inch. Refer to charts and sketches for set up information.
  • Place posts, horizontal and diagonal braces, connectors, footplates or other components into the fixture, rotate braces using a special hand tool, position parts to stops and clamp in place using C clamps, quick clamps, air operated or other clamping devices.
  • MIG weld bead or tack all accessible joints as necessary, remove or release clamps and remove the assembly to position for complete welding..
  • Manually weld connectors to beams or touch up weld from auto beam welder as required.
  • Make necessary adjustments to wire feed, heat, and gas flow.
  • May use a gas torch to cut notches and heating parts for bending as required.
  • Obtain material on rack truck from storage area or from rolling mills. Get welded wire as required from storage, transfer to work area, mount on a reel and assemble to wire feed mechanism overhead using a helper to hold the feeder in position.
  • Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Observe all safety rules, regulations, and practices.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or instructed by the supervisor.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs up to 60 lbs.


Material Handler Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs. including overhead and repetitive over a 10-hour shift.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, kneel, stoop, and use hand tools repetitively.
  • Must be reliable with a good work ethic and attendance.
  • Must have basic math skills including ruler and measurement skills
  • All Material Handler applicants must submit to both a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen. If offered a job you will also need to have steel-toed boots/shoes.

Welder Requirements:

  • MIG welding experience or formal MIG welding training or able to complete and pass a welding test.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and basic math skills
  • Reliable with good attendance and work ethic.
