Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full time Marine Small Boat Mechanic Supervisor in San Diego, CA.

Summary: Provide supervision and management for a team of mechanics that conduct troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and material assessment of various types of marine mechanical systems and components in accordance with Navy guidance and OEM technical specifications in and outside the continental United States as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees all other Epsilon site employees to ensure work scope, schedule, quality, and budget objectives are met.
• Develops work packages and assign subordinate employee tasks.
• Oversees the execution of the work, including quality and production, ensuring that the crew works to job specifications.
• Trains other technicians to operate, troubleshoot, maintain and repair boat mechanical systems, subsystems and components.
• Interfaces with the prime contractor onsite program manager to ensure overall contract objectives are being met.
• Ensures employees adhere to established Hazmat/Hazwaste utilization and disposal procedures.
• Tracks and oversees the maintenance of shop equipment.
• Travels overseas when required.
• Ensures daily shop cleanup is performed.
• Drives to and from shops and facilities.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience of general marine propulsion and power generation experience in operations, maintenance, repair and inspections
• Minimum of 5 of the 10 years of experience will be in specialized marine propulsion or power generation, maintenance, repair or inspection experience at the engineer, technician, planner, designer, foreman, or quality assurance level concentrating on the speci?c application
• Minimum 3 years’ directly supervising other employees
• Extensive knowledge of technical requirements required to maintain and service of Cummins Diesel Engines, Hamilton Waterjet Model HJ292, Hamilton Waterjet Model HM651, Twin Disc Marine Gear Transmission, MTU Diesel Engine or Detroit Diesel Engine, Westerbeke 33KW EDE D-NET Generator
• Knowledge of proper use of diagnostic equipment
• Knowledge in operation of various types of shop equipment; drill presses, media blasters, grinders & hydraulic presses
• Kamawa/Rolls Royce/Hamilton Jet Overhaul experience
• Comprehension & application of technical documentation - Manuals & drawings
• Effective oral and written communication
• Ability to identify complex problems and solutions relating to the Marine level of effort.
• Ability to perform basic computer operations
• Ability to identify problems and provide solutions relating to required repairs/maintenance
• Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible of needed
• Ability to travel including OCONUS, on short notice
• Ability to coordinate program requirements, subcontractors, and employees.
• Ability to provide direction to subordinates
• Possess organizational skills
• Possess or ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

• Ability to work in a field environment for extended periods (and in some cases, areas of extreme heat and humidity such as Guam, Djibouti, Bahrain, etc)
• Ability to work in maintenance shop environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in confined spaces of small craft
