In this role, you will prepare and test metal components for manufactures in a variety of industries. In addition, you will:
  • Reviews job packet to verify requirements, information and testing to be done.
  • Prepares coupons/parts and equipment for testing procedures.
  • Conducts testing as required, reporting any non-conformance to manager.
  • Accurately completes required paperwork and follows through as required.
  • Issue Purchase Orders and send coupons/parts to external lab when testing is required to be performed externally.
  • Supports inspection by ordering supplies, maintaining inventory and troubleshooting any issues with testing methods or testing instruments.
  • Read specifications in order to verify requirements and participate to create or improve internal testing procedures.
  • Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.
  • Must work in a manner consistent with environmental standards and procedures.
  • Performs other tasks as designated by position.
  • Responsible to help train other employees on testing methods.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
  • Education – High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience – More than five plus years in lab or related position.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, metallography testing procedures and, preferably, aerospace requirements.
  • Must be able to use Rockwell hardness testers, microhardness testers, microscope, laboratory cutting saw, mounting press and specimen polishing equipment.
  • Must be proficiency in Microsoft office basics in order to send/receive emails, organize/accept meetings, maintain excel files (inventory and logs).
  • Requires computer experience including but not limited to Mircosoft Office, Excel and Outlook and good understanding of basic math. Must also have the capability to ensure the use of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate, read, and write in the English language.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.
This position requires the following physical and mental demands consisting of, but not limited to the following:
  • Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
