POSITION PURPOSE:

The DCI Manufacturing Engineering Manager oversees the development and implementation of the manufacturing processes to ensure product quality as well as production efficiency. Leads the manufacturing engineering team to work cohesively and cross-functionally to achieve company objectives.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Reviews, evaluates, and implements engineering changes and specification requirements.

· Ensures that projects/milestones are met and adhering to approved budgets.

· Must be able to work in an expansive, highly active manufacturing environment and learn production processes, resolving issues directly in the production area.

· Embrace the cross-training culture by a willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.

· Know and abides by company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Trains, mentors, and manages the day-to-day performance of personnel and processes of the department.

· Specification and selection of the equipment used for the purpose of creating hollow metal products.

· Design of fixtures/tooling that insures parts are manufactured to meet all print specifications.

· Documents system requirements and performs/facilitates testing for system improvements in Engineering and Production.

· Advises, troubleshoots, and expedites resolutions and implements corrective actions to facilitate cost reduction, work simplification and safety.

· Create detailed manufacturing instructions to document processes.

· Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

· Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Working knowledge of current manufacturing techniques in a stamping manufacturing environment. Equipment, tooling, metal stamping, assembly and testing.

· Highly organized and attentive to tight deadlines with a sharp attention to detail.

· Communicate and work well in routine/unplanned circumstances with sales, Team Leads, and shop personnel.

· Hands on experience in Solidworks design, including sheetmetal design a plus

· Experience in turret/laser programming using a CAM software for programming sheet metal parts a plus.

· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

· Strong Continuous Improvement and Cost Reduction skills.

· Exceptional management/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Physical Demands:

· The Manufacturing Engineer will split their time in office and production environments depending on current needs.

· Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required of supplies and materials.

· The employee frequently uses both hands to grip, hold, and type.

Work ENvironment:

· While this is an office based role the employee will be exposed to the below factors on the production floor:

o High noise levels.

o Contact with metals and lubricants.

o Exposure to moving objects such as machinery, mechanical parts, forklifts, and carts.

o Exposure to hot or cold temperature when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled.

o Direct handling of industrial glue and adhesive products.

· Fast paced custom metal manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, plus minimum of 5 years related experience or comparable education and work experience. 2 years minimum in a manager/leadership role.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
