Manager of Global Strategic Supply


Position Description


Lindsay Corporation is seeking a Manager of Global Strategic Supply. This role will drive and deliver on the strategic goals of the supply organization in coordination with multiple corporate, global, and regional functions. This position will be responsible for leading and managing global categories and deploying a global strategy including materials for the enterprise and regions, own supplier relationships and performance, drive cost of goods sold management & improvement, velocity, and continuous improvement of this key operational element. Success in this role is dependent on leading and developing global supply plans, collaborating with the Tactical Supply Chain and other cross functional resources, and delivering customer driven results. The product portfolio and geography are diverse and require different supply chain design models to ensure customer expectations are achieved.


Position Details

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Responsible for developing and executing on detailed global category strategies.
  • Develop and drive a cost-effective supply chain including global sourcing, supplier performance management, supplier risk mitigation, supplier relationship management, dual-sourcing, and quality checks with the supply base.
  • Drive and deliver supply chain cost savings on an annualized basis that includes all elements of the supply value stream utilizing a total cost model approach
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to proactively identify value-driven activities that drive key performance metric improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and working capital
  • Leads supply agreement & contract negotiations for assigned categories/suppliers.
  • Contribute towards a culture focused on continuous process improvements and aimed at achieving predictable and efficient materials management operations
  • Communicate effectively and collaboratively throughout the organization building trust, unlocking creativity, and enhancing customer first innovation.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to assist with NPD and Make vs. Buy analysis for the assigned categories.
  • Identify supplier risk and develop global multi-functional mitigation plans to ensure supply chain resiliency.


Required Qualifications/Skills


  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years supply chain experience.
  • Strong background and knowledge of supplier and category / commodity management
  • Action-oriented, assertive, and diplomatic to get things done on time. This position requires multi-tasking and an individual who enjoys working with a sense of urgency and is capable of creative problem-solving to overcome challenges in materials leadership.
  • Strong skills in obtaining and analyzing business information and data
  • Written and oral communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft Navision / Business Central a plus.


Preferred Qualifications/Skills


  • Bachelor level degree in Business with a concentration in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Material Management or Engineering with Industrial focus or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years supply chain experience.
  • Global supply chain and manufacturing experience.
