Job Description

The Manager – Sales Operations position is responsible for the development and performance of sales activities in assigned market to maximize sales volume profits through market execution and leadership of associates. Accountable for the overall leadership, growth, development, and safety of the entire sales team. The Manager – Sales Operations is responsible for the sales processes, tools and technologies that support all aspects of the sales team activities, associate development, and business results.

What your day will look like:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
  • Interview, hire, and train associates
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Appraise performance
  • Address complaints and resolve problems
  • Builds positive associate morale
  • Motivate and communicate effectively. Provide direction and leadership to sales team
  • Collaborates with Sales Center Manager to direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly
  • Reviews and analyzes sales results to assess customer needs
  • Influences and implements strategic sales plan to achieve corporate goals
  • Coordination of sales, distribution, and merchandising routes while balancing logistics efficiencies to meet customer needs
  • Coordinates liaison between sales department and all cross functional teams
  • Ensures all Company policies and procedures are followed
  • Address complaints and resolve conflicts with both internal and external customers
  • Ensures all business and financial goals are achieved
  • Ensures execution of channel/customer annual business plans, pricing, Calendar Marketing Agreements (CMA), and all communications with customers and associates
  • Deliver sales presentations and negotiate agreements with key clients in coordination with sales representatives and functional partners
  • Be an Ambassador of the Company through developing community and customer relationships
  • Achieve market execution standards to assigned goals

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
  • Advanced selling skills to create and sell-in complex customer specific promotional programs & key initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational, people management skills
  • Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates. Able to display key leadership skills while managing people
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Relationship building, customer collaboration
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal/external management
  • Previous sales planning and reporting experience
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers
  • Previous management experience required
  • Experience as an Area Manager or Key Account Manager preferred
  • Able to quickly learn the internal UNITED systems, SAP, and Margin Minder as well as have Intermediate skills using MS Office Excel, PPT, and Word
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling/squatting, as well as using overhead reaching movements. Able to work through exposure to any type of weather conditions
