Suncast Corporation is the market leader in the manufacture of plastic injection and blow molded home and garden products, which are sold by large retailers worldwide.

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a sales program for his or her assigned products and territories. This position requires travel throughout North America, primarily in the United States. The amount of travel varies seasonally; however, the annual average is 35%. Role is based out of Florida or Texas.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure sales representatives are aware of programs, product features, and sales goals.
  • Ensure sales representatives have the required samples and information to accomplish sales goals. Share all direct customer communication with sales representatives.
  • Present current products and programs to accounts. Research competition in advance. Adequately prepare planned, organized, and focused presentations.
  • Provide marketing with sufficient lead time to prepare key sales presentation materials.
  • Work to improve profit margins for each account. Emphasize product mix that increases volume and profit.
  • Travel to meet with customers. Adhere to company policies regarding travel expenditures and entertainment. Provide sufficient lead times to obtain best air fares.
  • Prepare call reports on an accurate and timely basis. Follow up as required.
  • Provide forecast sales information for each retailer. Detail information such as which, how many, and when products will be ordered. Share forecast input with account and forecast managers.
  • Work with account and forecast managers to update production planning on changes in item and account forecasts.
  • Meet or exceed established sales goals.
  • Monitor actual sales versus goals and current forecasts.
  • Determine reasons for sales variances.
  • Formulate sales strategies to off-set any sales shortfalls.
  • Work closely with customer account managers, forecasting personnel, and customer service representatives. Share information about the accounts with those employees to ensure maximum customer service and satisfaction.
  • Assist with training account managers and customer service representatives.
  • Explain specific needs, buying patterns, and business methods of each customer.
  • Provide input for annual budget and ensure compliance to that budget.
  • Work national and regional trade shows as assigned.
  • Resolve account discrepancy issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Consult with Director of Sales and Director of Marketing with unique account product needs.
  • Advise of any existing or potential product quality issues.
  • Stay informed of new technology, methods, and materials for this position.
  • Support and comply with all Suncast safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping methods at all times. Suncast policies have been developed to ensure compliance with employee law.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility. However, this position requires strong leadership skills, tact, and powers of persuasion most evident when interacting with sales, marketing, buyers, and customers.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline. Five years of sales experience in consumer products for a manufacturer.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write memos, reports, and persuasive sales proposals.
  • This employee must have excellent verbal communications skills. He or she must be capable of leading discussions and meeting with buyers and other customers. He or she must be capable of responding to challenges concerning the product or company in a positive and persuasive manner.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Intermediate skills with a Windows based PC and Microsoft Office Products.
