The Manager, EPMO Operations is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and management of business analysis and/or project management staff activities. This role establishes and implements the operational standards to ensure effective delivery of enterprise projects and programs; serves as a change agent for continuous improvement. Provides support to staff through education, coaching, and mentoring and develops a culture that is sustainable, providing ongoing benefits to the organization.

How do I make an impact on my team?

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of EPMO staff which includes, but is not limited to:
    • Select, develop, motivate, train, and retain competent, engaged staff. Provide opportunities for professional development. Reward and recognize accomplishments and successes. Manage performance improvement, discipline processes and terminations, as appropriate.
    • Communicate organization’s mission, strategy & tactical plans to staff. Establish and review individual and company goals to ensure alignment with the corporate mission and strategic and tactical plans.
    • Timely completion of performance appraisals and merit increases.
    • Ensure an appropriate distribution of the workload amongst staff members. Maintain complete and appropriate staffing to meet company goals. Ensure appropriate and clear direction.
    • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency and increase engagement of the staff.
    • Ensure adherence to the company’s policies, procedures, and values. Set example for staff relate to culture and engagement. Uphold the organization’s core values and ensure staff are acting in a manner consistent with them.
  • Effectively manage project teams’ time and allocate resources to ensure deliverables are completed. Assess and approve/disapprove need for additional staff or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments as necessary during a project’s lifecycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

  • Provide leadership in project management and business analysis methodologies. Promote the application of standards and best practices within teams. Facilitate processes to promote innovation, continuous improvement, and best practices within the EPMO and to related areas within the organization. Enable teams to bring forward changes and process improvements. Research and implement ideas and innovative approaches to enhances processes within Navitus. Actively maintain team policy and procedure documentation.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on EPMO processes. Provide communication, training, and mentorship to internal staff.
  • Create awareness of, and urgency around the need for change. Model behavior and communicate change in a way that drives acceptance and ownership by stakeholders and removes barriers to successful and sustainable implementation.
    • Identify and prioritize key change stakeholders; develop and maintain communications
    • Assess the organization's readiness for associated changes. Assess the change impacts associated with the portfolio.
    • Ensure transparency through frequent communication with stakeholders. Assist in the preparation of external project and portfolio communications.
    • Guide change agents to encourage staff capability development.

  • Establish process and metrics to ensure delivery meets enterprise-wide standards and expectations. Accept and assess status reports, change requests, requirements documentation and other project artifacts to ensure smooth project progression. Provide methods and reporting mechanisms that track and monitor requirements, milestones, deliverables, decisions, etc.
  • Conduct project postmortems; provide methods for measuring and monitoring of defined benefits and project outcomes.

  • Provide expertise and leadership in support of enterprise portfolio governance and oversight processes. Support business with business case development and related EPMO portfolio processes. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within and between project and product teams.

What our team expects from you?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business, finance, program management or related field, with ten (10) years equivalent work experience.
  • Three (3) years management or team lead experience, preferably in an IT or project delivery management functional role.
  • Six (6) years relevant work (8-12 years preferred) managing complex, high-risk and high-visibility projects. Proven experience executing successful project management standards with a complex organization and/or various IT domains (infrastructure, Dev/Ops, cybersecurity, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and experience with project and portfolio management platforms is required.
  • Experience working within an Enterprise PMO, facilitating governance processes, and oversight / steering committee.
  • Health insurance or pharmacy benefits management industry experience is preferred
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
