We’re looking for an amazing Manager, Casting & Booking professional to fill this role, which is based in our Santa Clarita office. This is a hybrid work schedule opportunity. You’ll be responsible for executing the Entertainment Department’s shipboard casting strategy – promotion of the brand and department to attract world class talent and building shipboard Entertainment teams. Working in collaboration with Talent Acquisition and various Global Talent Partners, this role will oversee all aspects of recruitment, hiring and scheduling of Cruise Staff, Youth Staff, Stage Staff, Musicians and Cast performers, with support to the Guest Entertainer and Enrichment teams. It will have oversight of the casting specialist positions, providing guidance to these direct reports. This role is responsible for coordinating Entertainment Director, Cruise Director and management placements, in collaboration with other shoreside managers. This position will lead the deployment of highly functional teams for specific itineraries and markets. Additionally, the role will be responsible for maintaining healthy talent pools and monitoring shortages. This incumbent will need to make strategic and operational decisions daily. The role will have independent authority with respect to budget and financial matters, the promotion and recruitment process, hiring decisions, scheduling/rotations, and personnel matters

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of recruitment for the onboard Entertainment Department.
  • Manages and monitors the recruitment aspect of the Entertainment Website.
  • Partners with People Team on scheduling and rotational oversight for Cruise Staff, Youth Staff, Stage Staff, Musicians, and Show Operations.
  • Works closely with Global Talent Partners and Agents to provide targets for recruitment.
  • Oversees onboard Entertainment Senior Leadership recruitment, rotations, and onboarding. Working closely and strategically with Guest operations leadership scheduling team.
  • Creates, plans and executes recruitment drives and auditions for all disciplines as required.
  • Responsible for exemplifying and owning our culture essentials, inclusive of compliance and ethical behavior across all recruitment teammates and recruitment processes. A champion of Diversity, Inclusion and Equality in the recruitment processes.
  • Create monthly recruitment updates for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Fleet Personnel, Global Talent Partners
  • Meets regularly with shoreside Entertainment Managers to understand needs of each area as the business evolves.
  • Actively promote Princess Cruise Entertainment across social platforms. Expand and drive highly visual entertainment website for recruitment and promotional value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field such as media, business administration, or entertainment. Further experience in negotiating contracts. A strong working knowledge of the entertainment industry, the ability to continually network and strong written and verbal communication are all important skills.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in talent acquisition or casting in the entertainment industry.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience of budgetary creation and oversight.
  • Ability to work independently and make swift decisions that support the strategic goals of the department and brand.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of programs.
  • Proficient in operating Web Based Recruitment systems, (Rose, PinPoint).
  • Leadership and supervisory skills; ability to set team objectives and processes for achievement.
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of global offices.
  • Ability to drive a casting and booking team, meeting financial, performance and quantity targets.
