Maintenance Worker-Park Maintenance
The Parks and Recretation Department is seeking a Maintenance Worker to join its team in the Park Maintenance Division. The successful candidate performs responsible semi-skilled maintenance, grounds and lawn work in Parks and on Golf Course.
Must possess a general knowledge of grounds and facility repair and maintenance practices as well as knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work. The ability to operate large and small mowing equipment and knowledge of the regulations governing operation of equipment. Must also have the ability to make minor repairs on equipment and to communicate orally and in writing.
Possession of a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with B endorsement issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with and a good driving record within 6 months of hire (which will be reclassified to an EOI). Must have a certified pesticide applicator certificate within 6 months of hire. May be required to work Saturdays, week-ends and holidays depending on City activities and events. Position may be required to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, snow, ice and rain. Position is subject to random drug testing.
16.05/hr (+) excellent benefits, including health insurance and retirement. This position is open until filled.
