ShipRock Management is a stable and growing real estate company in the Duluth and Superior area. We have been in operation for nearly 15 years and are proud to employ nearly 50 staff members!

Our maintenance team is looking to add 1 or 2 field technicians to our crew. The candidate should have a mechanical background, but the position also fosters a unique opportunity to learn an incredible wealth of information. Our senior technicians have been on duty for 14 years, and our existing staff has worked for us for just over 8 years (on average).

The candidate should have a basic working mechanical understanding of buildings consisting of 1 – 16 units. They should be well versed in plumbing, light electrical, and carpentry work. Knowledge of heating systems and appliances would be a bonus. Additional responsibilities include:

• Picking up work orders from our office each day and prioritizing as necessary
• Reaching out to tenants to set up work orders and following up once complete
• Repairing basic maintenance issues such as: running toilets, leaking faucets, replacing P-Traps, replacing light fixtures, replacing outlets, replacing water heaters, replacing windows, unclogging fixtures, troubleshooting heating systems, etc.
• Turn over maintenance such as: painting apartments, rekeying/replacing locks, potentially replacing vinyl/carpet floors, hauling belongings to storage/dump, etc.
• Working with hired contractors (electricians, plumbers, heating contractors, etc.) to troubleshoot and fix issues that arise
• Other duties as assigned.

The candidate should have a basic working set of tools and have reliable transportation. Personal vehicle use is required, however a stipend will be paid each month to reimburse for expenses. The position is challenging, fast faced, and provides you with the opportunity to be a part of an outstanding team.

Candidates should be presentable, professional, and have experience as a technician or contractor with a proven track record of success. A clean driving record is required as well as a clean background.
