Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician you will be a member of the Richmond Heights maintenance team responsible for maintenance services including troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems within the facility. You will perform preventative maintenance on all production related equipment. You will diagnose furnace issues and perform corrective actions. You will complete all brick, graphite, vacuum, and plumbing maintenance needed to rebuild a furnace. You will work in additional maintenance or production roles, as required.
Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Performs work building and installing furnace insulation materials, repairing production equipment, performing equipment preventative maintenance, and troubling production equipment preventive maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Working understanding of electrical systems and safe work practices.
  • Order materials when needed.
  • Trains and assists others.
  • Fabricate and repair parts.
  • Maintains and repairs all types of machinery.
  • Does fabrication and assembly work with hand tools, combined with machine tool work.
  • Works from sketches, patterns, blueprints, and conceptual ideas. Keeps accurate records.
  • Works with limited or no supervision.
  • Operates material handling equipment.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly.
  • Follows safe work practices.
  • Maintains supplies and inventories.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 5 years working experience within a heavy industrial environment or as a maintenance mechanic, millwright, or related furnace operations capacity.
  • Willing and able to work an 8 hr/day and 40 hr/wk schedule
  • Must be able to work in an environment where electromagnetic fields are always present.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment & powered industrial trucks such as forklifts.
  • Must be able to work from heights.
  • Worked on the assembly, repair, and fabrication of production/process equipment.
  • Worked hands on in a plant environment on the troubleshooting and repair of a variety of process equipment applications
  • Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 500 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, kneel, & climb.
  • Must satisfactorily complete skills assessment.
  • Previous PLC experience a plus.

Progressive Pay Rate: $37.19 - $42.64 per hour, plus shift differential.
