The Maintenance Supervisor 2nd shift is a hands-on role that is responsible for directly supervising employees in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, facility, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Train employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems
  • Perform repairs and leads workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment and direct workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing machinery
  • Responsible to ensure all preventive maintenance is executed timely and properly (includes routine audits of PM’s and WO’s)
  • Lead shift in utilization of CMMS system for inventory control and consumption, preventative maintenance, and work order tracking
  • Schedule maintenance workers to ensure that sufficient resources are available during production hours
  • Shift leader in safety directly responsible for implementing and supervising the DuPont STOP program (in addition serves as a member of the Safety Committee)
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Confer with other Supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
  • Responsible for meeting the Maintenance Repair Budget and Building & Repair Budget
  • Work closely with outside vendors to help resolve equipment issues related to production and ensure the plant maintains a proper inventory of machine parts
  • Support food safety initiative by being an active member of the BRC team

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 5 years industrial maintenance experience and 2 years supervision
  • Proficient in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs of industrial equipment and facilities
  • Knowledge of PLC’s is required
  • Proficiency in one technical area and one to two years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Requires strong communication skills (interpersonal, written and verbal)
  • Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence; speak, coach, and persuade maintenance team or to other essential team members in the organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume (ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry)
  • Capable of defining problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variable
