Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBLITIES
- Startup and shut down machine as recommended by maintenance
- Operate both overhead and jib style cranes
- Operate fork truck
- Operate machine(s) in such a manner to meet Hawkeye quality standards
- Operate machine(s) in both a safe and productive manner
- Perform required preventative maintenance
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous work experience as a machine operator in like field
- Setup and operate the following machines: roll bending, press brake, laser, saws, and plasma
- Read and interpret prints without supervision and/or direction
- Certified crane operator
- Certified fork truck operator
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; able to handle shifting priorities and deadlines; able to properly prioritize.
- Have good housekeeping habits and strict adherence to safety.
- Take personal ownership and pride of quality work in the department.
- Ability to comply with all work-related deadlines and work overtime when required by the situation.
- Willing to assist in other areas as needed.
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
- Willing to assist in other areas as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
