Position: Q-Cel Machine Operator

1st Shift: 6:00am- 4:00pm (Monday- Thursday)

The Q-Cel Machine Operator is responsible for executing job functions in the operation of the Q-Cel line during working shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Operate Q-Cel sections from beginning to end, shredder to wrapper.
  • Obtain and set up scrim rolls for unwind.
  • Change material rolls (with assistance from other team members).
  • Thread-up machine from unwind to stacker/roll winder (with assistance from other team members).
  • Strap broke on pallets and record on appropriate waste tracking forms. Work the baler for scrap material, clean up area weekly and daily.
  • Maintain safe work environment for fellow members of the production team. Responsible for following all company safety rules and guidelines, including lock-out/tag-out.
  • Maintain quality standards for products.
  • Understands and fully complies with the concept of “move to the work,” ensuring tasks required to operate the line are efficiently executed.
  • Cross-trained to handle the duties of any of the Q-Cel positions. Is able and expected to step-in when needed to perform any of the production responsibilities.
  • Control and document the process using the appropriate Sellars’ forms and tools as required for the specific positions.
  • Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Prior experience working in a continuous production process desirable.
  • Prior experience working in the printing, paper production or paper converting industries preferred.
  • Prior lift truck experience desirable.

  • Position requires constant walking or standing.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Must be able to lift and carry of up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be at least 5 feet 5 inches in height.
  • Must have sufficient hand strength to carry-out job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to move with ease around manufacturing equipment.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator as required by OSHA standards.
