Licensed Practical Nurse, Chenango Bridge Pediatrics

United Health Services is seeking Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Chenango Bridge Pediatrics team in Binghamton, NY. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

Potential for up to a $7,500 Sign-On Bonus or $12,500 Tuition Forgiveness, Relocation Assistance, Continuing Education Incentives, and Employee Referral Bonuses.

Licensed Practical Nurse Overview

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides skilled nursing care tasks and procedures under the direction of an RN, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized health care provider.

Licensed Practical Nurse Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Performs clinical assignments within scope of practice to maximize patient experience and ensure patient safety.

Promotes and facilitates the compliance and understanding of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards.

Under the direction of a provider or RN, educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.

Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.

Maintains CLIA Waived Lab standards and performs CLIA Waived Lab testing and proficiency validations according to regulatory standards. Includes tri-annual AAFP Lab Proficiency testing, lab quality controls and lab credentialing.

Collaborates with patients, families and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.

Participates in Performance Improvement activities, reviews PI data and assists in the development of Performance Improvement plans.

Participates in educational opportunities.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:
Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.

Preferred:
At least 1 year experience in health care setting with evidence of having obtained proficiency in those areas emphasized in the LPN curriculum.
Previous experience in a walk in / primary care / specialty care/ pediatric care setting.

License/Certification

Minimum Required:
Current NY State LPN license.

Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment.

Preferred:
Current driver’s license
