Indigo is a massage therapist run studio in South City St. Louis and in downtown Maplewood and we are looking to expand our team! We have part-time or full-time hour available for a licensed and insured massage therapist. Weekend availability is required. We offer a flexible schedule and we respect the art and style of each of our massage therapists. We offer higher pay than the employee-based "chains" and higher pay than many of the independent contractor studios. We also will pay a therapist bonus to bring their clientele to Indigo. And that clientele would remain theirs if or when they decided to leave. Many of our therapists have 5 or 10+ years experience and really enjoy working at a studio where they are appreciated!

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide Therapeutic Massage Therapy focused on the client's needs.

Commit to arriving 15-20min before the scheduled appointment time to have time to prep the room and a bit earlier if you have upgrades to set up for.

Light cleaning and some laundry duties

Qualifications and Skills

2 yrs+ experience preferred

Prenatal massage experience preferred

Deep Tissue massage experience/willingness required

Receptionist for almost all the hours we are open to make appointments for us and ring clients out

Scheduled half hour between appts to clean and set up, physical rest/snack, and for client consult

Schedule available on the MB app or desktop version, same day appts have to call and reception gives 1 hr notice via text to therapists for same day scheduling

Raise opportunities: (based on staff reliability/attitude, length on the team, client retention, pre-booking, wellness clients, teamwork, therapist self-care and how they recommend self-care to their clients, mentioning/recommending the retail items that are used in certain appointments/upgrades or for client self-care)

No Show pay (no show is when someone no call no shows or they give us less then 6hrs notice and reception is not able to fill any of the original appt slot although therapist stays available)

Paid Training for massage upgrades

Indigo pays the payroll taxes so you don't have to be stuck with 25% + of your income being paid out quarterly or at the end of the year. Our staff has the opportunity to receive a tax return and many of us have been able to get car/house loans because we have W2 pay.

Indigo does a lot of discounts and gift card donations and Indigo "eats" the discounts. The therapist receives their regular pay regardless of what the client's discount is unless we agree as a staff to allow an exception.

No Uniform, just an easy professional dress code and we provide an Indigo T-shirt but only required to wear that at chair massage jobs

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Masks are now OPTIONAL for staff and clients. We follow the client's preference and ask that you have a mask handy to wear if asked. We have masks available.
We ask for a copy of your original Vaccination Card to have on file.

  • Deep Tissue Massage: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Massage Therapy License and Liability Insurance (Required)
