What you will do:
The Equipment Repairer/Refinisher – Non Powered will perform structural and skin repair to damaged areas of station Ground Support Equipment (GSE); inspects and conducts maintenance, repair and overhaul of all non -powered Ground Support Equipment as described below. Must be willing to work flexible shifts, accept indoor and outdoor work assignments and be subject to overtime. Must practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; comply with all LGSTX Inc. operating and safety procedures and policies; follows all safety guidelines and provides for the safety of customers, employees and other persons any time they are on or in company property or aircraft; or within the air operations area; must be able to communicate effectively with other mechanics and management; must be able to comprehend and apply all information with respect to technical manuals; must be able to pick and complete work orders in a timely fashion and log satisfactorily completed work; make welding repairs (steel and aluminum) and repairs to fiberglass, honeycomb and plastic materials on GSE; apply sealers, primers, paints and other protective coatings and related parts to equipment when needed; repair damaged areas to equipment by pulling out dents, shrinking/stretching metals and/or filling with various type fillers; disassemble and assemble ground equipment associated with structural/skin repair and pointing refinish work.


What you need:


  • Must have high school diploma or G.E.D
  • Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Verifiable two (2) years performing repair and refinish work experience in the repair of plastic, fiberglass, sheet metal and aluminum body panels, proper methods of eliminating dents, tears and scratches by shrinking and stretching metals and the use of proper filler materials, proper methods of applying sealers, primers, paints utilizing siphon and pressure pot applications, knowledge of welding, brazing and cutting, welding steel and aluminum, and application of decals
  • Basic arc and/or mig and acetylene welding
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical manuals, drawings
  • Familiar with power sanding and polishing machines and other equipment used in connection with this work
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in all of the above areas
  • Ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces
  • Communicate effectively
  • Work in adverse/outdoor weather conditions
  • Wear a respirator/safety protective equipment
  • Perform work at heights
  • Have a complete set of mechanics tools appropriate for Non Powered equipment maintenance and Refinishing Ground Support equipment

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move varied objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Two (2) years of auto body, truck body or equipment repair/refinishing trade school (certificate of completion) can be applied as one (1) year of experience
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills:


  • Certificate of completion of auto body, truck body or equipment repair/refinishing trade school
  • Basic computer keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
