The Aerospace Structures Business Unit (ASBU) at Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for you to join our team as a Level 2 or Level 3 Financial Analyst. This position is located on site in Clearfield, UT.

Essential Functions:

As a Financial Analyst you will be responsible for supporting our programs and organizational goals. This position will work closely with program management, operational leaders, internal and external customers, and other sites within ASBU. You will work with the Finance team as well as other departments on the following:

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and communicate recommendations to management in a clear, organized summary
  • Analyze spending and cost of production weekly and provide direction to management to balance risk and cost targets
  • Provide monthly / quarterly reporting and analysis to support business processes
  • Assist in planning and forecasting program financial performance. Understand and explain variances to planned financial performance to management
  • Coordinate and prepare quarterly EACs (Estimate at Complete). Present EACs to management and communicate impacts to financial performance. Ensure EAC programs are recording profit correctly on a monthly basis
  • Work with department heads to gather information to support site headcount and indirect planning. Upload information into the financial database
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and process efficiencies. Perform special projects related to financial and budget analysis
  • Support proposal and pricing efforts for both new business and changes to existing customer contracts
  • Establish and maintain IWOs with other NG sectors as needed
  • Support closeout process on completed projects
  • Perform monthly timesheet audits to ensure employee compliance with timekeeping policy
  • Train new hires on the timekeeping policy

This position may be filled as either a Level 2 or Level 3 Financial Analyst.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2 Financial Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of accounting or financial experience OR a Master’s degree with 1 year of accounting or financial experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of accounting or financial experience in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of applications in a computerized environment, including spreadsheet applications and databases (e.g. MS Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience with financial planning and forecasting
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3 Principal Financial Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of accounting or financial experience OR a Master’s degree with 4 years of accounting or financial experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of accounting or financial experience in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of applications in a computerized environment, including spreadsheet applications and databases (e.g. MS Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience with program cost control
  • Experience with financial planning and forecasting
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with proposal and pricing support
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics
  • Experience with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, Government Compliance or accounting
  • Experience partnering and supporting senior leaders of any functional business unit
  • Understanding of and/or experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • Experience in program/cost accounting, and legal/contracts
  • Operational knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, and business environments
  • Experience with applications such as Deltek Costpoint, ProPricer, Cobra and TM1
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines
  • Organize deliverables in a clean and presentable format
  • Defense Industry experience

Salary Range: $60,600 USD - $90,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
