Purple Bloom School in Coralville, IA is hiring a Float Substitute Lead Teacher(Contracted). Hours are M-F, between 7:30AM-5:00PM (40 hours/week required). Purple Bloom School offers social/emotional teaching focus for students ages 6 weeks to 6th grade. Join us for a supportive, friendly, and engaging work environment! Experience as a Lead Teacher required. Must be able to easily go between different classrooms from ages 6 weeks to kindergarten to fill in when lead teachers are absent.

Full Time Lead Teachers (Contracted) must be able to follow all DHS guidelines, complete required trainings on time, lift up to 40lbs, be willing and able to assist with potty/diapering, be willing and able to go outside year-round for recess, and be willing and able to get up and down off the floor easily, show up to their scheduled shift, give a 2 week notice for any time off, and be willing to follow a positive and supportive method of teaching focused on social/emotional learning.

Annual contract includes 40 hour/week work requirement with 17 Holiday days off per year and additional 16 personal days.

Additional Job Requirements Include but are not limited to:

· Establish classroom

o Understand Purple Bloom School curriculum and carry it out in your classroom including fostering play-based learning, child directed learning, experiential art, big body play, music, yoga, and meditation.

o Classroom Management of students and classroom assistants

§ Delegate tasks to classroom assistants

§ Bucket filling/bucket dipping/ & Solution cards

§ “We are Safe. We are Learning. We are Kind.”

o Create Classroom Daily Schedule

o Follow School schedule

o Follow laundry schedule

o Keep classroom clean and delegate cleaning to classroom assistants

· Training Classroom Assistants

o Training new classroom assistants including but not limited to diapering, potty, classroom schedule, classroom cleaning, building schedule, how to find child’s personal items in children’s bins, etc., how to fill out attendance sheet including temperature checks and sunscreen application.

o Follow up with classroom assistants to ensure compliance

· Communication with parents

o Greet parents and child by first name upon arrival

o Fill out daily report sheets (under age 3 only)

§ Give verbal summary for students ages 3 and over

o Let parents know when child needs more items using new sticky note

o Incident reports

o Conduct parent/teacher conferences, once in fall and once in spring

· Plan-ahead for upcoming activities

· Use Communication Request Form

o Material Requests (art supplies, etc.) or Facility Request (water hook up, etc.)

· Weekly/Monthly/Etc. Paperwork/Forms

o Attendance Sheets/Temperature Check/Sunscreen Application

§ Turn in every Friday to Lisa

o Weekly Cleaning Sheet

§ Turn in every Friday to Lisa via office mailbox

o Weekly Lesson Plans

§ Turn in every Friday to Kelley via office mailbox

o Any other paperwork/forms required by school directors
