Essential Duties & Responsibilities

CORMAC is seeking a Lead Innovations and Solutions Architect to lead a matrixed technical team tasked with identifying and prototyping data-centric innovations in our Innovation Lab, developing solutions, and authoring approaches for capture and proposals. This position may also be tasked with helping in the delivery of solutions for our clients so we are seeking a hands-on technical leader with broad technical experience and deep, narrowly focused data expertise (e.g. data analytics, data engineering, Cloud, etc.). This is a senior leadership position within CORMAC that will help shape and deploy growth strategies for the company.

  • Lead our Innovation Lab focused on data management and data analytics.
  • Identify marketplace trends to guide technical vision.
  • Develop hands-on prototypes and proofs-of-concept in our Innovation Lab.
  • Demonstrate prototypes and proofs-of-concept to new and existing customers.
  • Develop fully compliant and outstanding technical solutions for opportunities in the Capture phase, RFI/RFP responses, etc. by analyzing IT requirements and proposing creative, innovative, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop and write significant portions of the technical response to an RFP, including developing diagrams and architectures.
  • Attend pre-RFP meetings with team members and answer general technical questions about a potential solution to a client problem.
  • Be able to fully understand and effectively articulate RFP and potential client requirements as described in the RFP or Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • Author and lead the technical presentations to our customers.
  • Design, document and communicate plans for Cloud deployment and migrations, including analysis for risks, cost, and strategies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering related or equivalent degree
  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology (IT) and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • 4+ years of management experience at a consulting organization (or a significant management role at a practice) with a focus on both technical leadership and technology selection/expertise
  • 4+ years of Federal Government proposal solutioning and writing experience
  • Innovative and forward-thinking IT leader with deep knowledge of industry trends
  • Proven ability to devise software solutions to address both current and future client needs through the innovative use of proven emerging technologies
  • Experience in designing and deploying solutions for Cloud environments, preferably in a government or contractor-managed context
  • Experience and expertise in Data Management, Data Engineering, and Data Analytics
  • 2+ years of AWS Cloud and DevOps experience
  • Experience in solution delivery capabilities (i.e., cloud, containers, SaaS)
  • Deep experience with Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience with CI/CD; continuous integration, delivery, and deployment methods
  • Excellent organization, communication, presentation, and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment, completing multiple complex tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science/engineering related or equivalent degree
  • Experience building or maintaining ETL processes
  • Professional certifications
  • Experience working remotely using collaboration tools such as, but not limited to MS Teams, SharePoint, Slack, etc.
  • Skilled in managing software development life cycles using Agile/Scrum Project Management frameworks
