The role in the Financial Services department located in downtown Indianapolis is focused on Lease accounting and it also supports certain General Administrative departments. The position has a hybrid work schedule that averages 1 day a week in the office with the remainder of the time spent remotely.

This role:

  • Reviews lease contracts and other general contracts with potential embedded leases and ensures proper accounting.
  • Provides training to other departments to recognize potential embedded leases.
  • Supports prudent financial management through data analysis, interpretation, reporting, and modeling.
  • Performs monthly and/or ad hoc reporting, prepares proformas based on historical, comparative, and projection data.
  • Provides accurate analysis to support outcome and impact based decision making.
  • Identifies, analyzes and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Interacts with many other teams within the IU Health system.
  • Provides ongoing analysis, development, and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the tax team.

Our Ideal Candidate would have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 4+ years of relevant financial and operational analysis experience. Lease accounting experience preferred but not required.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
  • Analytical experience working with complex data sets.
  • Ability to promote teamwork, build effective relationships, and lead workgroups.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products/applications; strong Microsoft Excel experience required; relational database and financial or operational modeling experience a plus.
  • Ability to be agile and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Our system finance team values and encourages professional development, including the CPA designation and involvement in professional organizations.

This position is mostly remote; however at least one day per week is dedicated to being in the office to connect as a team and collaborate. Depending on the business needs, the amount of in-office time could be more some weeks.



Bachelor's degree required; degree in Finance or related field a plus.
