ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Receiving Clerk to work in the Union Hospital General Lab. This position is day shift, Monday through Firday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Every other Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to noon required. Holidays as required.
In this role you will perform pre and post analytical functions that support the testing of specimens received in the General Laboratory.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process, sort, and deliver laboratory specimens and request slips
  • Print and properly affix identification labels to all incoming patient specimens
  • Prioritize incoming work, ensuring samples for stat testing are delivered to the appropriate laboratory section in order to maintain stated turnaround times
  • Communicate specimen priority to testing personnel upon delivery

E ducation and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years applicable clinical experience working in a lab environment with specimens or equivalent college courses in the health care field
