    • Regularly review and address any issues with COS personnel not being current on necessary trainings.
    • Act as a resource for faculty, staff, and students seeking information on best practices for research and occupational health and safety, which may include creating original training materials or presentations.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Reviews:
    • Working with OARS and the office of Environmental Compliance and Occupational Safety (ECOS) Environmental Health & Safety, conduct exposure assessments in COS workspaces (labs, offices, classrooms) as needed to assess the potential for hazardous materials or practices to cause harm.
    • Work with university offices as appropriate to review industrial hygiene and indoor air quality in COS spaces.
    • Take the lead in ensuring proper protective materials (including lab coats) are available for all researchers, faculty, staff, and students. With Environmental Health & Safety, participate in incident investigations and follow-up on all necessary corrective actions.
  • Other Duties as Assigned:
    • Other Duties may include partnering with the Director of Space Planning & Operations to review renovation requests, modifications, or other work to be done inside COS space to ensure safe design and execution.
    • Other duties may also include representing COS on key university teams or committees related to space and safety.
