OVERVIEW OF JOB

We are looking for an organized and hardworking janitor to join our company. You will be responsible for keeping our building clean. In addition to keeping the inside of the building clean, you may expect to keep the outside orderly, as well. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, so our janitor needs to be hardworking and willing to engage in a few cleaning activities. The janitor team is to ensure the maintenance of cleanliness and a healthy environment at Prime premises. Proper handling and disposal of biological waste.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs hospital-wide trash pickup. Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
  • Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing unit, departments, lobbies, lounges, rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways. Perform daily discharges and transfer cleaning of patient rooms. Cleans isolation rooms as per procedures.
  • Cleans upholstered furniture and draperies. Dust furniture, wash walls, ceilings, woodwork blinds windows, doors panels and sills. Sweep dust and damp mops hard floors. Sweeps, hotkeys, or vacuums carpeted floors. Defrost and clean refrigerators/Freezer Units.
  • Coordinates and supports the cleaning of customer sites/locations in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the customer contract and management.
  • Supplies soap, lotions, towels, gloves, and washcloth dispensers with supplies on a regular basis or as needed. Exchange sharp containers as needed. Distributes, collects, and processes linens Assure that customers’ needs are expeditiously addressed with a sense of urgency meeting response time requirements.
  • Other tasks and projects requested by the customer and/or Advanced Building Maintenance, Inc team.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Possess problem-solving ability that enables you to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Lead experience assuring effective cleaning processes are followed.
  • Customer service experience communicating changes and progress while meeting project deadlines.
  • Writes clearly and informatively and can read and interpret written information.
  • Experience with delegating work assignments by matching the responsibility to the person.
  • Exhibits confidence to lead and motivates others to perform well.
  • Managing staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating, and process improvement
  • Travel is required for this position. Mileage will be reimbursed for any traveling between work locations.
  • Reliable transportation and clean DL are required to travel from site to site.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Industry experience in aspects of cleaning retail or institutional buildings
  • Establishes priorities to deliver results efficiently.
  • Demonstrates orientation to detail and organization.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees.
  • Demonstrates effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Always demonstrates honesty and integrity.
  • Ability to follow appropriate safety guidelines.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the cleaning industry required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Must be able to learn how to use ADP System which is proprietary software used daily to manage budgets, complete audits, payroll, and attendance as well as electronic hiring.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employees must be able to be on their feet most of the day.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Building and Hospitals, which may include varying temperatures and moderate noise levels.
  • The site environment may have varying workstations and varying interactions with customers and staff.
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.
