About us

Tek-Mate provides tech support to businesses to both keep their technology functioning well and restore their technology to good working order. We are currently seeking a recent grad from a technical school or equivalent that has received formal training on Network fundamentals such as Network+ certification or CCNA. No actual work experience is needed as long as you have completed formal training related to network fundamentals. Cybersecurity only training is NOT acceptable, must have basic network training.

Technical Proficiencies: ● College/Trade School training or equivalent work experience in Network fundamentals such as TCP/IP protocol, Routing, subnetting, scripting, firewalls, servers, switches

● Proficiency in supporting Windows operating systems

● Basic understanding of Linux and Mac OS is a plus

● Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites

● Knowledge of Microsoft Hosted Exchange (365) administration

● Knowledge of security softwares, such as anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-SPAM, anti-malware, and other security related technologies

● Knowledge in supporting desktop VPN connectivity troubleshooting and configuration (Cisco, SonicWall, etc.)

● Understanding of Active Directory and how it works in domain environments

● Basic understanding of LAN connectivity troubleshooting

We will also accept the equivalent work experience of at least 1 year that would enable you to do the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

● Work with clients/end-users to resolve and troubleshoot desktop hardware and applications, server hardware and applications, network and connectivity issues

● IT support relating to technical issues involving our customer’s core business applications, as well as virtual environments built on Citrix, Microsoft, and/or VMware solutions

● Support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.

● Perform regularly scheduled client site inspections and maintenance procedures

● Manage daily ticket assignments, documenting work completed and time entries

● Implement and support disaster recovery solutions

● Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security

● Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix

● System documentation to include system reviews and recommendations

● Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages

● Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction

● Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively

● Escalate service issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels

● Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals

● Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customer’s needs

● Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities

● Interpersonal skills: such as telephone skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer-care

● Diagnosis skills of technical issues

● Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly

● Technical awareness: the ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately

● Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided

● Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services

● Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details

● Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment

Base Qualifications: ● Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively ● Excellent analytical problem-solving skills

● Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and clean driving record

● Interpersonal skills such as telephone etiquette, communication skills, active listening, and customer care

● Ability to pass background and drug screening
