Position

We are seeking an IT Network Technician for our office in Eugene, OR.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of network connectivity, network security and Wi-Fi networks.
  • Remote troubleshooting and diagnosis of network connectivity issues
  • Good understanding of Windows servers environment and common operating systems
  • Understanding of firewall hardware and concepts (Watchguard, SonicWALL, CISCO, etc.)
  • Ability to work with a variety of customers and vendors (some technical some non-technical)
  • Ability to lead clients through discovery phase (asking the right questions)
  • Aggressive problem solver
  • Able to develop concise documentation and training materials
  • Ability to travel locally to different clients

Qualifications

  • Prefer a Tier 2 technician with at least 1 year of professional experience in an IT Helpdesk
  • Professional networking certifications – (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco)
  • Advanced knowledge of networking protocols and concepts (VPN, Routing, Ports, TCP/IP, Network analysis tools)
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience providing support to users using Windows Desktop Operating Systems and other mainstream Microsoft applications
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cohesively with clients
  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record

Bonus Skill Set

  • Good understanding of Mac OS environment
  • Watchguard firewall certification or previous experience
  • Previous experience managing HP switches and routers
  • Previous experience working in managed IT services
  • Basic understanding of VOIP technology
