Our Landsberg Orora San Diego team is currently seeking a ISTA Lab Technician to join our team
The Role: ISTA Lab Tech
ISTA Lab Tech will assist in the testing lab and be responsible for conducting various tests outlined below:
What You'll be Responsible For in this Role
- Safely and accurately operate the test lab equipment for test such as drop, compression, and vibration testing.
- Understand how to read and execute industry test standards from organizations such as ISTA and ASTM.
- Have a basic understanding of packaging principles and types of corrugated boxes.
- Understand the different environmental hazards a package may go through during transit.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments.
- Assist the lab technician on cold chain testing.
- Maintain responsive communication with sales reps and customers regarding test status, updates, and results.
- Assist with thermal modeling for cold chain solutions.
- Prepare test samples.
- Assist on various duties and projects as assigned by test lab manager.
What We're Looking For
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year employment in the industry (or a packaging or related engineering degree).
Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Results oriented
- Ability to communicate with all levels
- Demonstrated effective project management skills
- Fluent in the use of Microsoft Excel Word software
- Organized
- Self starter and driven
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
