We are hiring for an Internet Field Technician for the Chico, CA area.

DigitalPath is hiring! We are hiring a Full Time Internet Field Technician for our Chico, CA location. DigitalPath is a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) providing residential and business internet service in Northern and Central California. We specialize in bringing high-speed wireless internet to rural or hard to reach customers. Our mission is to bring a faster, more reliable service for customers that are typically unserved or underserviced by cable companies.

The Ideal Candidate will be someone that will:

  • Brings high speed internet and phone service to families and businesses in rural communities that are generally not served by mainstream internet providers.
  • Responsible for the fulfillment of customer installations, service calls, site inspections and maintenance of Wireless Internet Service equipment.
  • Performs all aspects of wireless installation for residential and business customers, including terminating CAT6 cable, setting up small networks and mounting hardware.
  • While there is a technical aspect to the job, this job is a physically active outdoor position. Applicants with prior cable/satellite/DSL/WISP will receive priority review. Others are welcome to apply, training is provided.

A Successful Candidate will have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, bilingual is a plus.
  • Solid computer skills with Office 365 and stand-alone applications such as, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Highly Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to use good judgement in solving problems and make sound decisions.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights, able and willing to climb up to 300 ft. with fall protection. (NO FEAR OF HEIGHTS)
  • Present a professional appearance, a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Capability of communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Proven ability to adhere to all safety standards and promote a safe working environment
  • Able to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License with no more than 1 point on your record and no DUI's.

Physical requirements:

  • To comply with safety and equipment requirements, body weight cannot exceed 250 Ibs.
  • This position offers an alternative work week schedule with 4 days a week at 10 hours a day.
  • Requires travel to worksite locations using a company vehicle with either an automatic transmission or possible manual transmission.
  • Requires sufficient strength and coordination for lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, move, climb, carry, bend, twist, kneel, reach, push and pull as part of the job.
  • Ability to bend, stoop and kneel for 25 to 35 minutes at a time.
  • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • Specific vision requirements for this job include close, distant, color, and peripheral vision, depth
  • perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • PPE required for some tasks.
  • A post-offer pre-employment background check, driving record review, and arduous physical with drug/alcohol screening will be performed.

Benefits and Compensation information

Starting compensation range is $23.00 to $27.00 per hour for a new technician. We aim to hire skilled employees at $25. Anything above $25/hr. may require qualification with a skills test between 3-6 months of hire. With a $3,000 Sign on Bonus that starts paying out at 90 days.
